Tobler Gymnastics, home of “Johnathan’s Living Seagulls” gymnastics team, is headed by Coach John Tobler, and has for many years, offered area youth his gymnastics classes through Community Education programs in Big Lake, Becker, Brooklyn Park, Monticello, Minnetonka, and at other metro locations. During 2003, John decided to relocate his gymnastics club to its current location in Clearwater, MN, just off the I-94 Hasty exit. Many area gymnasts followed to continue to train at his new facility. Tobler Gymnastics team members are now preparing for the AAU National Qualifiers at the end of April, to be held at KAAT’S in Pine Island, MN, the “Star of The North Games”, in mid-June, also in Pine Island, and the AAU National Championships, being held in Tampa, Florida in July. John says that approximately twenty area gymnasts have registered for the qualifiers, and plan to compete at the National Championships in Tampa. Many of the “Seagulls” gymnasts are becoming national competition “veterans”, having competed last year at the AAU Nationals held in Rochester, MN, and the 2005 AAU National Championship Finals that were held at Disney World’s Wide World of Sports complex, in Orlando, Fl. John commented that several gymnasts are now working on more difficult Level 8 skills, a move from Modified Optionals, and while still participating in the MAGA program, he is looking forward to offering additional skills and training after implementing the USAG program at his gym next year. Helping John at the MAGA Division Championships were assistant coaches Mike Erickson, Stephanie Swenson, Ben and Johnny Tobler. 2007 Star of the North Games ResultsClick on the above link to view Tobler's Seagulls Individuals results. |
